Jeanette (Jet) Hall, owner, CEO of BH Media, Inc., a marketing company and publisher of Florida Women Magazine. Jet was born and raised in Stamford, Connecticut. Her career began in retail at the age of 16, working on ad layouts as a teenager. Later she was hired by a print shop and learned typesetting. When that business was sold she opened her first business - Type Images, Inc, as a Typesetting/Graphic Arts House. Unheard of at the time, she was one of the few businesses operating full time out of her home. When desktop publishing was born, the typesetting industry died, so she evolved into print brokering and marketing to her existing clients. She continued to service many of the small, local businesses, along with larger companies such as IBM, General RE Insurance, Texasgulf, Mobile Oil and others.
Moving to Florida in 2004 was a life changing experience. For the first time in her life she found herself not working. She took a job at a local newspaper selling advertising. In early 2015, with her husband's health was declining, she was forced into early retirement to care for him at home. Since working from home was the norm for her, she launched a local "Community" magazine in East Pasco County while being a full-time caregiver. By 2018, as she was preparing for the loss of her partner, she regrouped, rebranded and Florida Women Magazine was created, with her husband's blessing to "just do it".
Florida Women Magazine (FWM) has been growing ever since its inception. When Covid hit, the publication was forced to go completely digital, however, there was a silver lining - it was reaching women into 5 counties on-line! Finally back to print, although limited with CDC restrictions, the magazine continues to grow. FWM focuses on empowering women, giving a hand up and helping their business grow. "It's all about being there for each other. Supporting, helping and teaching each other, reaching women from all walks of life."
Jet lives in Pasco County, has 2 children, is a member of the Begonia Society of Tampa Bay, a retired Master Gardener, and lives with her new love in her life along with her beloved dog Rosie and cat Lola.
